Mersey Wave Music was founded in 2013 by local music director and pianist Jason Ellis and mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge.
Weekly Music Groups
Mersey Wave Music is based in South Liverpool and has over 60 members from across Liverpool and Halton who participate in our weekly music groups and classes. As well as receiving music education our members are also invited to participate and perform in Mersey Wave Concerts and community events throughout the year.
Live Music Events
Mersey Wave Music organises regular live music events and concerts. We also provide music for special events, local organisations and fundraise for charities and good causes. All of our events are made possible through the generous support of sponsors, local venues and volunteers …and our amazing members!
Jason is a Multi–faceted musician who works as a composer for both media and concert, music producer, pianist and music tutor. He has been MD of the Mersey Wave Choir since it began and continues to lead the choir into new territory in terms of ability and experiences.
He has a MA in media composition as well as BA(hons) Music and an Associate of the Trinity College London in piano performance
Since graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2017 (BMus Hons), Andrew has worked extensively as a pianist and piano teacher in Liverpool and across the UK, performing in concerts ranging from classical music to jazz. With notable recent appearances on BBC Radio Merseyside, the Eurovision Village and the Barbican Centre, Andrew hopes to bring his broad experience to Mersey Wave Choir which he joined as Accompanist in 2023.
As well as volunteering to look after the finances of the choir Carla is herself a singer studying at Leeds Conservatoire
