Mersey Wave Christmas Concert at St Ambrose. “It’s beginning to look a lot like christmas”
On 6th December 2013 the Mersey Wave Music Christmas concert was held at St Ambrose Church Speke, which included performances from the Mersey Wave Choirs under the direction of Jason Ellis, with solos from mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge. Owen Roberts also provided musical accompaniment on the piano and organ. Proceeds from refreshments, raffle and tombola tickets will support the activities of Speke Youth. There was also £250 raised during the evening for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This month the Mersey Wave Choir have also been performing at a number of events in the community – including singing carols and festive songs for the customers of Morrisons Speke, Liverpool. On 7th December the choir performed at the Runcorn Christmas Festival and at the Wellington Hotel on 8th December 2013 following the opening of the Hale Village Crib.
