On Friday 14th February 2014 a Valentine’s Day Concert took place at St Ambrose Church Speke, Liverpool. The concert was organised in collaboration with Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir along with their Musical Director Leigh Mason, Deputy Musical Director Owen Roberts and accompanist Jason Ellis.
The event marked the third Mersey Wave Music evening concert to be held at St Ambrose with a programme of music spanning across musical genres with songs also sung by Kathryn Rudge. During the evening there were performances from the members of the Mersey Wave Choir who joined in singing with the Fron Choir for a rousing finale to each half of the concert.
Funds were raised for the Speke Catholic Youth, with the generous help of Carol Rimmer, through the sale of refreshments, a raffle and tombola. At the end of the concert there was a retiring collection for the Halton charity Neaven and William’s Trust which raised £262. With thanks to St Ambrose Parish Priest Father Ed Cain and everyone who generously supported this concert – all of the volunteers, parishioners, Family and Friends of Mersey Wave Music who made the evening one we will never forget!
